More about Renaca surfspot
General: The peaky beachbreak is a product of offshore boulders that have sculpted the sandbars towards the north end of the beach into peaky A-frames that wedge in and over themselves, allowing a couple big moves and/or a brief shack before closing out. South of the main peaks, and stretching on south down the beach, are a series of poorly shaped closeouts. Tides: Medium Low Size: Waist-head high Wind: E Swell: W, SW Bottom: Sand Paddling: Rips are an issue no a proper swell, otherwise pretty average. Spot Rating: Can get good when it's on.
Beginner to advanced
Big parking lot at the north end of beach.
Southern Hemisphere summer, December-February
Crowd Factor: Oh yeah. Everyone from aggro rippers to old school longboarders to bodyboarders. Local Vibe: Much of the time -- especially on weekends and in summer -- it's too crowded to worry about it.
Not bad, can get dirty when it rains.
Turning your back on the ocean.
