Rio Sierpe Rivermouth is located near Drake’s Bay and can only be accessed by boat or a bit of travel on land. This spot is pretty remote, so you won't find many crowds here. The area is known for its natural beauty, but getting to the waves involves a bit of an adventure.
The surf is best during the incoming tide, where you can catch long, powerful lefts and rights. The ideal swell direction is from the Southwest, but it also works with swells coming from the South and Northwest. This spot can handle swell sizes from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) up, making it suitable for intermediate surfers. The waves break over sand, creating a rivermouth style that can be fun for those looking to mix up their sessions. Mid to high tides are preferable here, and when the wind comes from the east, conditions are generally better.
While you’re out there, keep in mind that the wildlife can be intense as this is a remote area. It's not uncommon to spot crocodiles and sharks in the vicinity, so always be aware of your surroundings. This spot can offer a different surfing experience compared to more popular locations, making it a unique option for adventurous surfers.
