Serangan surf guide

Serangan, also known as Turtle Island, is a surf spot located in Bali. It’s an east-facing beach that works well during the wet season. This spot is pretty popular among surfers, offering a mix of waves that can appeal to different skill levels. After going through a security check to get onto the island, you'll find a laid-back vibe perfect for soaking up some sun before or after a surf session.

The waves here break over dead coral and can deliver both lefts and rights. Ideal swell direction is from the south, and it handles swell sizes from about 2ft (0.6m) to much bigger. You can expect different types of waves, from softer shoulders to more powerful sucky shacks. The best wind direction for this spot is northwest, making it a pretty regular crowd pleaser when those winds are right. Whether it’s low, mid, or high tide, there are waves to catch, but it's generally suited for intermediate surfers.

Serangan draws plenty of swell, and when the conditions align with the right wind, it can get crowded, especially if the surf is good. Even with the rock jetty nearby, it doesn’t significantly impact the surf quality. The chill warung scene adds to the relaxed atmosphere, making it a decent stop for surfers looking for a spot to hang out after hitting the waves.
