Virgin Creek is a surf spot located just north of Airport Road at the northernmost end of Fort Bragg. It's one of the most surfed breaks in the area, offering a small cove with decent peaks over a soft sandy bottom. While it's not the top spot in the region, it does provide a laid-back vibe for surfers looking to catch some waves.
The waves at Virgin Creek handle swell sizes as small as 1 ft (0.3 m) and are best with south and north swell directions. The break is mostly sandy, making it easier on your board, but you should be aware that it can get a bit sharky. You can find both left and right waves here, though the lefts tend to section more often. The mid tide is the preferable tide height for surfing, and you’ll want to look for east winds for the best conditions.
When you visit, parking is available in the wide dirt lot across the street from the Fort Bragg City Limits sign, making it pretty convenient to access the beach. Just be mindful of the rocks on the inside, as they can catch you off guard. Overall, it’s a decent spot to spend some time in the water if you're in the area.
