A-Frame surf guide

A-Frame is a surf spot located near Lhok Nga, about 15km south of Banda. It’s known for a consistent reef break that provides a fun surfing experience. The area also has a bit of history, as in April 2007, pro-surfers Rizal Tandjung, Marlon Gerber, Benji Weatherly, and Ian Walsh visited this location, meeting local surfers Taufik and Agus, who became Aceh's first lifeguards.

The waves at A-Frame are pretty versatile, handling swell sizes from around 2ft (0.6m) and up. The optimal swell direction is from the Southwest, but it can also work with swells coming from the South or West. This spot features both left and right-breaking waves over dead coral, making it interesting for surfers. It’s best to hit it with an east wind, and it works well at low, mid, and high tide. Intermediate surfers will find this spot a good fit, as it offers a chance to practice and improve their skills.

Beyond the waves, A-Frame has a friendly vibe, and you're likely to run into other surfers enjoying the area. Just remember to check the conditions before you paddle out to make the most of your session.
