Lamno is a surf spot located south of Mount Gurutee. Recently, a new island has formed due to the rising reef in the area, which has changed the surf dynamics a bit. It's known for having some fickle but decent waves during the wet season. The main attraction here is the rivermouth, where you can find rights peeling off nicely, along with a solid right point break that offers a bit of variety.
The optimal swell direction for Lamno is Southwest, but it can handle swells coming from the South and West as well. The waves usually break over sand and are best enjoyed at sizes around 3ft (about 0.9 meters). Surfing here is ideal for intermediate surfers, as the wave types at this spot include rivermouth breaks that generally favor a right direction. Also, you’ll want to catch it with the wind blowing from the Northeast and during low to mid or even high tide for the best experience.
While the waves can be a bit hit or miss, especially depending on the time of the year, Lamno has its moments that make it worth checking out. Just keep in mind that it’s not a guaranteed perfection surf spot, so be ready to adapt to the changing conditions.
