A St. surf guide

Surf: General: Moving south of FA and the Saint Augustine pier, you'll pass 16th Street. Keep going 16 blocks to A Street. Consistently crowded, A Street breaks on even the smallest days.

Park at the entrance to the street and don't worry about the crowds here. It's usually mellow in the lineup, and the wave is a fun, long ride. It's a rolling wave that's good on all tides, but higher tides may be better. Tides: All Size: Good on small days, 1 to 3 feet, but can handle up to 10 feet Wind: W Swell: All Bottom: Sand Paddling: Not too bad but can be challenging when the surf is bigger. Spot Rating: Comes and goes with the sand. This has been a very popular spot at times and can get busy. Access: At the end of A Street is a public, free parking lot. Crowds: Crowd Factor: Usually not too crowded but can get busy at times. Local Vibe: Low key. Environment: Clean water for the most part but can get murky. Hazards: Nothing much, just the sealife. Season: Fall-Spring, Hurricane
