Aberdeen - Harbour is a surf spot located at the mouth of the River Dee. It’s not the most consistent place to catch waves, but when the conditions are right, it can deliver some fun sessions. You'll find a mix of locals and visiting surfers, and it’s best to be familiar with the area before heading out.
The surf here works best with a solid NorthEast swell, handling sizes around 2ft (0.6 meters) and up. The waves typically break to the right over a sandy bottom. Low, mid, and high tide can all be suitable, but some may prefer the tides to be low or mid for the best experience. If the wind is coming from the SouthWest, you'll find it helps shape the waves nicely, making for a better ride. This spot is more suited for expert surfers, so be prepared for that challenge.
Keep in mind that the conditions can change quickly, so always be aware of your surroundings. Since this area is pretty busy, with boat traffic in and around the harbour, it's a good idea to stay alert while you’re out there. Just park on the esplanade and enjoy your session!
