North of the city's port, Playa Grande is renowned for its consistency and has several breaks where contests are regularly organised. Next to the northern jetty, a regular current takes you to Biologia's line-up. This left breaks off the tip of the jetty and works particularly well with a NE swell and will be offshore with summertime’s frequent W/NW winds. Rights break back towards the rocks and there can be right off the end into the next bay, depending on swell direction. Can get really hollow on lower tides.
Absolutely always crowded when smaller, but a bigger E swell will leave it for the chargers.
