Borth surf guide

Surf: General: A long stretch of mediocre shifting peaks with some scattered sea defences. Needs a very big SW swell to push into the bay here, although there can be a wave by the point in town on those rare days. A bit weak so best on pushing tide. Tides: Works through the tides. Size: Waist to head high. Wind: E Swell: SW Bottom: Sand. Paddling: Longshore drift - take care. Spot Rating: Sheltered, fickle, will be quiet as other better spots nearby. Access: Beachfront parking. Crowds: Crowd Factor: Quiet. Local Vibe: Friendly. Environment: OK - except after rain can Autumn foul of sewage. Hazards: Big rips in big swells. Season: Big swells and storms that rage December - February.
