Brighton - Dunedin surf guide
Surf: West of Blackhead’s barreling beachbreak is Brighton where lines of S swell bend around a large rock island. Easy workable walls after a hollow take-off, but positioning and paddle-out is tricky through the rocky channel at size. The Brighton beachbreak can get epic too with barrels on sandbanks anchored by patches of rock.
Environment: The locals at Brighton Surf club can advise on where to search in the unchartered waters of The Catlins area.
