Concepción Bamba surf guide

Concepción Bamba is a surf spot located along Highway 200, easily accessible via a track beside the quarries. This spot is favored for its better protection from the wind compared to nearby point breaks, and it offers a good level of consistency. Surfers appreciate the location, especially for its well-formed waves that can provide thrilling rides.

The surf here mainly features right-hand waves that break over boulders and sand. The optimal swell direction for Concepción Bamba is from the south, but it also works well with southeast and southwest swells. It handles swell sizes around 3ft (approximately 0.9 meters), with the best rides happening at low to mid tide. Winds coming from the northwest can create more favorable conditions. A small breakwall is where you’ll find a juicy, hollow right that’s quite intense, but keep an eye on tide levels to avoid backwash messing up your ride. There’s another breakwall that produces a heavier, thicker barreling right which is also worth checking out.

This spot is best suited for intermediate surfers, so it’s a decent choice if you’ve got some experience under your belt. It's a great place to hone your skills, but make sure you're ready for the challenge as the waves can pack a punch.
