Crab Island surf guide
Surf: Heavy, barrelling, righthand reef, complete with vertical, jacking take-offs and thick-lipped slab sections to negotiate. Itβs a deceptively long paddle and judging the size from a distance is hard. Only for experts, who may have to swim back, against the current, with half a board.
Directions: There are steps for the surfers to enter the water, 50ft past the new pier, so the new pier isn't where you jump off.
Environment: Park in the harbour car park at Doolin. There are steps for the surfers to enter the water, 50ft past the new pier, so the new pier isn't where you jump off.
