El Muelle / Harbour Wall surf guide

El Muelle, also known as Harbour Wall, is a surf spot that attracts experienced surfers looking for a challenge. It features a left point and reef setup that can offer some fast barrels, especially as you ride down toward the harbour wall. The vibe here is relaxed, but the surfing conditions can get serious, so it's not the place for beginners.

This spot works best with a big northwest swell, handling sizes up to about 2 meters (6 ft). While you can catch decent waves on other swell directions like west and northeast, the sweet spot is definitely the northwest. The waves break over an uneven reef, which can create fast and sometimes tricky conditions. Low tide is ideal for this spot, but it can also handle mid and high tide, so keep that in mind. The best wind direction is from the southwest. Overall, itโ€™s a good spot for expert surfers who are comfortable with critical take-offs and the unpredictability of the reef.

Besides the surfing, the area has a relaxed atmosphere, with some restaurants and cafes nearby. Ineika surf school is also around, making it a good spot for those looking to improve their skills when not in the water. However, it's clear that El Muelle is all about the serious surf, so be prepared for an exciting session if you decide to hit it up!
