Surf: Swell magnet outer reef with plenty of water over it and lots of take-off spots. Works well in a small, peaky W swell, but when it is double overhead plus, Mejillones becomes a real challenge. Shifty, powerful and some fast hollow sections, it's always bigger than it looks. Environment: Only serious riders with extra inches should take on the tricky rock and urchin infested entry and exit. Low tide currents are strong. Sometimes crowded with protective locals.
