Goats is a laid-back surf spot located on the southeastern coast, known for its sandy beach that faces SSE. It's a spot that tends to pick up a decent swell and can be fun for surfers looking for a chill day on the water.
The surf here is typically best with southwest swells, but it can handle southeast swells as well. It works well for various swell sizes, starting from around 1ft (0.3m) and can go up to overhead. You’ll find beach breaks here that produce both left and right waves, giving you some variety. The wind from the northwest is preferred for the best conditions, and you can surf all tides, whether it's low, mid, or high.
The area around Goats is pretty spacious, with three car parks to choose from, giving surfers plenty of room to set up. There’s also good camping nearby in the Calverts Lagoon Conservation Area, making it a nice spot to hang out after a day of surfing.
