Inside Ekas surf guide

Inside Ekas is a surf spot nestled in a deep bay/estuary environment. It's a generously covered reef peak that comes alive with a moderate Southwest swell. This spot can often get crowded, thanks to its playful vibes and variety of waves. Surfers of different skill levels can find something here, though it's generally more suited for those with at least some experience.

The surf here is pretty interesting. You can expect right-hand waves that are sucky and quick, perfect for shorter rides, while the lefts tend to roll out smoothly, offering more opportunity for big hits. The right waves work best at low to mid tides, while the longer lefts are best when the tide is high. You'll find the optimal swell direction coming from the Southwest, but it also handles swells from the South as well. The spot can work with swell sizes starting from about 2ft (0.6m), breaking over live coral. If the wind is coming from the East, thatโ€™s preferable for a better experience.

Inside Ekas is a great choice if you're aiming for a fun day of surfing. With the combination of different wave types, both right and left, it gives the opportunity for varied surfing experiences. Just be prepared to share the waves, as it can get crowded, especially on good days when the conditions line up right.
