Ketewel surf guide
Surf: The east coast reefs switch to a lava base here and are every bit as intimidating as the coral. Spacious, angular pits unfold over an uneven base that demands high tide to be safe enough to challenge. Add in the southerly aspect and it means that morning glass, spring highs are the best option, so itβs not too consistent, plus requires real skill to master. There are more manageable reefs nestled among the black sand beachbreak in both directions for an easier ride. More dodgy water quality after rains.
