La Barra de Maldonado surf guide
Surf: La Barra de Maldonado's rivermouth helps shape good sandbars off the rocky coast. Long lefts or shorter steeper rights provide a wide playground for many surfers of all abilities. Mid tide, any N wind and a ESE swell should be primo.
Environment: La Barra can be pretty powerful by Uruguay standards, with rips on extremes of tide and the rocks can be a hazard jumping in so it’s generally an experienced surfer’s spot.
