Lalla-Fatna is a surf spot located a bit north of Safi, Morocco. This beach is relatively easy to find, which is nice since the area has many reefs hidden beneath the cliffs along the road to Oualidia. While it’s not usually overrun with surfers, you can expect some decent waves when the conditions are right.
The surf here works best with south-west and north swells, handling wave sizes from around 1ft (0.3m) up to bigger sets. The waves break over sand, forming both lefts and rights that cater to intermediate surfers. For the best experience, check it out during low to mid or high tide. If you're planning a session, aim for a southeast wind for more favorable conditions.
Even though Lalla-Fatna isn’t super crowded, be mindful of the strong rips that can happen here. It's a good idea to keep an eye on the conditions before heading out, and it might help to go with friends if you're not familiar with the area.
