Las Salinas - Baltra surf guide

Las Salinas - Baltra is located a bit further down the west coast of Baltra. This spot is known for its classic righthander that tends to provide long, rolling waves around head high. Access to Las Salinas is by boat only, so make sure you plan accordingly if you want to catch some waves here.

The surf here works best with a northwest swell, but it can also handle north swells. You can expect good surf at sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters), making it suitable for intermediates looking to improve their skills. The waves break over an uneven reef and sand, which helps keep the risk lower for those who are not yet advanced. The wave typically moves right, and for the best conditions, east winds and low to mid tides are preferable.

Because most of the reef is covered by sand, this spot is a bit more forgiving compared to others, making it a decent choice for surfers who are still getting the hang of things. If you're keen on a longboard session, this could also be a good fit. Just keep an eye on the conditions, as they can vary.
