Surf: Las Urracas starts off looking all the world a nice peak, but only the left has a future as it walls and barrels down the surprisingly shallow reef to a narrow channel. The right becomes El Colegio a bit further down and many use the easier paddle-out via Urracas to get there. Environment: Like all the Iquique breaks, the waves break with power and purpose and getting caught straightening out can be sketchy on the rocks, which are studded with urchins. Currents play their part also and there is sometimes a crowd to contend with.
