Surf: Punta Dos is a barrelling wave that explodes on a gnarled reef. It is an uncompromising wave that will punish the hesitant and therefore for experienced surfers only. It's mainly bodyboarders in the line-up and while it appears to be a righthand point-style set-up, there are lefts depending on the swell angle. More crazy lefts just north at La Cosa. Environment: Almost all the waves in Iquique suck hard off the rocky slabs of reef and lurch forward in a hurry from take-off. Dry sucks, boils and urchins are all part of the equation, so skill and caution needed in equal measure.
