More about Lauderdale Point surfspot

When the swell gets huge from the S, a number of righthand pointbreaks can get classic along the cliff-lined east coast. Cremorne Point sand is also sculpted by the lagoon outflow and is more on the fun side of the spectrum. Next one up is May's, where on the handful of days a year it fires, long, shallow barrels are on the menu, particularly over the outside shelf. Lauderdale is the most easily accessible with long rides through all tides, incorporating short tuck sections and snappy shoulders in towards the beach. Seven Mile is probably the longest of the bunch but needs even more encouragement to break and gets insanely crowded with crew who patiently await the stretched out canvas of the extended walls. All need lower tides, S-SW swell in spades and have no problem with a following SW wind.

Crowds are a given at all the points and parking is especially tricky at Seven Mile. Improvers will manage the orderly walls until it gets to the overhead range, which is pretty rare.
