Le Goulet is a surf spot located at the south end of the Baie de l’Arsenal. It's known for its left-hand waves but tends to be a bit rare to catch, breaking only on bigger southwest swells. The spot is fairly remote compared to other more popular locations on the northwest coast, so when it does work, you might find a few more surfers than usual showing up to enjoy the waves.
This wave is best with a southwest swell direction and can handle sizes around 3 ft (about 1 meter). It has a unique setup, wrapping almost 180° which allows for some interesting rides when conditions line up. The wave breaks over LiveCoral and is generally a reef break. If you want to catch it at its best, keep an eye on the wind; it's preferable to have a south wind. It works well at low, mid, and high tide, but it’s mostly suited for intermediate surfers due to its nature.
The environment around Le Goulet has its quirks, including some urchins in the water. If you're planning a session, be mindful of that. Overall, this spot can be worth checking out if you’re around when the swells are pumping, but don’t expect it to be a consistent go-to.
