Le Port is located just north of the Possession Harbour entrance. This surf spot sees fewer riders, making it a bit of a hidden gem in the area. It's not the most polished place, but it has its own charm. Just keep in mind that it's known for having a higher shark factor, so be aware while you surf.
The waves at Le Port can be a mixed bag, mostly breaking over an uneven reef. This spot works best with a southwest swell and also handles southeast swells. You can expect decent waves when the swell hits around 4 ft (1.2 meters), and they can break both left and right. The ideal wind direction is from the east, and the tide can be low, mid, or high for a good session here. It’s a good spot for intermediate surfers looking for a challenge.
Since Le Port doesn’t get too crowded, it can be a nice getaway if you’re looking for less competition. Just make sure you check the conditions before you head out and be prepared for varying wave quality.
