Le Ruppione is a surf spot located past Punta di Sette Nave. It’s not the most impressive place when it comes to consistent waves, but it has its moments. Generally, you’ll find a short, steep shorebreak, which may not excite everyone, although there’s a left that sometimes sets up on the south side. It’s a spot that can handle some onshore winds, especially when you get mushier close-outs rolling in.
The optimal swell direction for Le Ruppione is from the west, but it can also pick up swells from the south and northwest. Surfable waves can range from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and work best over sand. You’ll find both left and right waves here, and while they're not always clean, the variety can keep things interesting. For the best conditions, aim for low to mid or even high tide. This place is more suited for intermediate surfers who are comfortable with a bit of unpredictability.
Keep in mind that nearby, there’s La Castagne, which can offer better surf due to its reef break. However, if you’re looking for something different, Le Ruppione can be a fun option, especially when the conditions align just right. Just be prepared for some variability in quality!
