Makka's surf guide
Surf: Makka’s is the main option for fun ripable lefts, providing very long rides when it connects on any SE swell. Often a contest site, Makka’s can accommodate sizeable hurricane swells and draws a crowd with some localism. If it gets big, which it handles quite easily, improvers and intermediates will enjoy the laid-back lefts of Salt Ponds which require difficult 4X4 access and any E wind.
Environment: The crowds are always higher than the consistency.
Surf: General: The pride of Yallahs, this left reef point provides one of the longest rides on the south east coast of the island. Makka is one of the most consistent breaks catching all east swells. Susceptible to early morning blow-outs during the summer, Makka delivers best in the winter months when the cold front swells that wrap into the Caribbean are fanned all day by the crisp offshore north easterlies. It loves big swells and can handle anything up to triple overhead and bigger.
