Surf: The lefts at Matadeiro rivermouth can be epic but are extremely fickle and inconsistent. The sandbars shift and there may be more rights going back towards the river or short, sharp, close-outs stretching down the beach. Environment: Praia da Armação to the north may have some quieter options, since Matadeiro gets quite crowded.
