Pedra da Cachorra is a sand-bottomed beach break in downtown Ilheus, and it claims to be the most consistent beach in town. It breaks both left and right, and when bigger swells roll in the lefts peel behind the 'Pedra', the rock that gives the spot its name.

The beach draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), and it works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Nearby Sul can turn on with powerful reefbreaks and even hosts contests at times, but it needs glassy conditions to fire.
