Surf: Northern half of an extensive golden crescent of sand that extends to the southern tip of the island. Soaks up swell but suffers from horrendous long-shore drift and rips. Mini headland seperates Cofete from Playa Barlovento. Usually messy and wind-blown, it will be best on small, peaky swells and glassy or sirocco winds. Environment: The sand swallows cars and the sea swallows careless swimmers. Never a crowd but avoid solo surfing.
