Playa de Robayero surf guide

Playa de Robayero is a surf spot located near the Rio Pas. It's known for its long, left-hand rivermouth break, which can be a solid option for intermediates looking for a challenge. To get there, you’ll have to enjoy a decent walk through the Dunas De Liencres nature reserve, which adds a bit of adventure to the trip. The vibe is pretty mellow, but be prepared for some localism and currents when you're out in the water.

This spot works best with swells coming from the Northwest, but it can also handle those from the West and North. It's capable of breaking at sizes around 2ft. (about 0.6 meters) and tends to produce speedy, hollow sections especially as the tide goes outgoing from mid. The optimal conditions are during low to mid tide and when the wind is blowing from the south. If you're looking to ride some rivermouth waves, this is a good place to check out.

While Robayero is generally suited for intermediate surfers, it's important to be aware of the currents present in the area. Respect the locals and enjoy your time catching waves. The walk to the beach can be a nice warm-up before you hit the water!
