Portinfer is a surf spot located in a scenic area, known for its consistent conditions. It's often less crowded compared to nearby Vazon, making it a decent choice for surfers looking for a bit of space. The beach setup provides a variety of waves, and the access is pretty straightforward, letting you park right by the beach.
The surf here is mainly a beach break that picks up swells well, especially from the NorthWest. You can expect solid waves with sizes around 2ft (about 0.6 meters) or more. The waves tend to be more consistent at mid tide but can close out as you get closer to low tide. Occasionally, you can find some good, hollow sections. There’s also a right reef break known as the ‘Knife’ near the northern rocks that works at high tide and can reach up to head height. You’ll find both left and right waves, depending on the swell direction, which can come from the SouthWest and NorthEast as well.
Keep in mind that Portinfer can get crowded, especially on good days. It’s a good idea to check the local surf scene before heading out. The beach break handles a mix of uneven reef and sand, so be aware of changing conditions as you surf. Wind from the east is ideal for clean waves here, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the forecast.
