Surf: With no accommodation available in El Capire, The Ranch remained a secret for many years. Today surfers staying in nearby resorts regularly drive or boat up here to enjoy very consistent rights and lefts on either side of a headland plus a rivermouth that holds up to double overhead. The lefts are really consistent, often bigger than surrounding breaks, offering stretched out walls with lip-bashing sections at all tides. NW swell will see more rights off the peak and the rivermouth bar might line-up but it's the lefts that get the shortboarders coming back. Environment: Often crowded these days and there might be some vibe at the outside peak but it's a long line-up and sectiony so sitting inside can be rewarding.
