Surf: Torami is one of the main Taito beaches that sits at the heart of Japanese surf culture thanks to consistent waves at all sizes and reliable sandbars. It works on any E pulse and will be bigger than Taito in S swells. Weak and crumbly when small, it can open out in a proper longer period groundswell. Expect serious surfers in the line-up and behave accordingly. Access: Massive car park Environment: There will be no shortage of surfers, but the longboarders will prefer it further S and the rips and poundings get a bit more intense in S-SE swells. There are many more breaks heading north up through the pine forest but parking can be an issue. Loads of surf shops along the whole Ichinomiya to Taito stretch.
