Tullaghan Right surf guide
Surf: Fairly fickle, high tide only, right reef/point. Can be dangerously shallow over the uneven, bouldery reef, especially when it’s small. Safer depth when bigger but then the wave can be powerful and punishing.
Access: Parking is tricky, access is across private land so check with the locals first, farmers have been known to pull out shotguns.
Environment: Access again is contentious. Park responsibly on the street at the east end of the village. Go through the rusty gate and follow the path. If it’s working, the locals will be on it, so ask if in doubt. Poor water quality due to an outfall pipe at the end of the wave.
