Wisemans is a surf spot that offers a feel for the raw power of the wave. It's located west of the harbour and is known for its heavy left ledge. Surfers who frequent this spot know that it typically needs a clean north swell and light south wind to really shine. While it can provide some solid waves, it’s not the most user-friendly spot out there.
The waves here break over a rock ledge and come in primarily from the north, but also work with northwest and east swells. Wisemans can handle swell sizes around 4 feet (1.2 meters), making it a decent spot when conditions line up. The waves are predominantly lefts, and the best sessions happen at low, mid, or high tide. This spot is more suited for expert surfers due to the powerful nature of the waves and the risk of getting caught inside.
Parking is available by the harbour, which is convenient for quick access to the surf. Just keep in mind that this isn't a place for beginners. If you're looking to catch some challenging waves and have the skills to handle them, Wisemans might be worth your time when the conditions are right.
