Surf: Adjacent Summerleaze often holds the sand better and lines-up some bashable rights at Middle Beach. At mid to high tide on a solid swell, a right breaks off the sea-pool and meanders softly towards the rivermouth and harbour. Provides some wind and swell protection, so it’s a surf school and beginners favourite, despite currents and crowds. Also check the speedy left wall to close-out off Barrel Rock at low tide. Environment: It’s right in Bude so full big-town facilities. Big pay car park that does fill up. Water quality can be suspect from town river.
