Surf: 5km (3mi) off the North West Coastal Highway, Coronation has fun, reliable, beachbreak peaks, popular with windsurfers when the afternoon sea breezes blow it to bits. Can handle a bit of size, but is generally a fun, safe wave, suitable for beginners. Environment: Also scout around for Oaka's, a decent righthander. Government has given go ahead for a big deepwater port to be built around here for loading iron ore onto ships, changing the landscape from pristine to heavy industrial. Wont be good for water quality or business at the Coronation campground.
