Dania Pier surf guide
Surf: General: A coral reef runs outside the pier, and good winter swells and hurricane swells send powerful lefts reeling back toward the pilings, while a few rights break against the grain. There also is a good inside sandbar on the north side that works on windswells.
Tides: Low and incoming
Size: Chest-high to overhead
Wind: WNW, ENE
Swell: NNE, SE
Bottom: reef and sand
Paddling: Breaks pretty close to the beach.
Spot Rating: Pretty average spot overall. No one is driving here solely to surf this spot.
Access: Metered parking.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: Heavy.
Local Vibe: Competitive.
Environment: Water surprisingly clean being near such a populated area.
Hazards: Watch pilings, crowds, crime and man-of-war during windswells. Sea lice in spring and early summer.
Season: Fall-Spring
