This spot works best with a southeast swell, but you can also catch waves from the east and south. It handles swell sizes of about 3 feet (approximately 1 meter), with waves breaking over live coral. The waves are predominantly right-handers, which can be fun for intermediate surfers. For the best experience, aim to surf during mid to high tide, especially with winds coming from the west. Keep in mind that the shape of the waves isn't always great and it often sees onshore winds, which can impact the overall quality of the surf.

Since Faga'alu is close to town, you might encounter a small crowd, especially during peak times. It's a decent spot to keep in mind if you're looking for convenience rather than the ultimate surf experience.
