Surf: Ferrugem is a multi-directional swell magnet, where the super-consistent beachies pack some punch. Lefts at N end in NE swell, rights off rocks at S end and a number of rip bowls in-between. If it's flat here then it's not happening anywhere. Environment: Crowds can be overbearing on the best peak so look at all the options including round the corner at Praia da Barra, but the river run-off can be off-putting.
