Surf: Garopaba rivals Guarda as a surf travel town because of Silveira, a great right point that wraps S swells around a rocky headland. Grunty, right pointbreak with testing sections over urchin-infested rocks. Also has a mid-bay peak and can hold the biggest Brazilian swells. Both the south end and north end beachies can turn on grinding barrels and the whole stretch is often better at higher tide. Environment: Don't expect much change from the locals who dominate both the point and the best beach peaks.
