More about La Paloma surfspot

General: With the right conditions, this classic right can put on a full-on show with an impressive and dramatic view from the top of the cliffs. A 20- to 25-minute drive from the town center, you'll see a sign saying, "La Paloma." This zone is called Los Acantilados, which means, very rightly, "the cliffs." Getting in and out of this wave can be risky and you have to watch your step as you go up and down the very steep, rocky path along the cliff.

Its rock bottom and powerful tubes, especially the first hollow section, make it an expert-only wave. The best conditions for this wave are a rising low tide with a good, solid swell from the southeast and a slight northeast wind. If the swell is big enough you could score some solid double-overhead tubes on a good day. Tides: Low. Size: Overhead to double overhead Wind: NE Swell: SE Bottom: Sand and rocks. Paddling: Medium Spot Rating: Fun.
