Los Organos is a surf spot located in Peru that offers a unique experience for dedicated surfers. The area features a scenic environment, but it requires some effort to access the surf breaks. You’ll need to take a bit of a walk around the point past some nice houses to get to the spot. This location has a vibe that's more suited for those who know what they're doing in the water.
When it comes to surfing, Los Organos is best with a NorthWest swell, but it can also handle swells coming from the West and North. The waves break over an uneven reef, making them a bit tricky and requiring solid skills. You can expect some short and sharp barrels predominantly on the left, but there are right-hand waves as well if you don't mind the occasional close-out on the shelf. It’s ideal to surf here during mid to high tide, and glassy conditions help with the drop. The spot can handle swell sizes around 3 feet (0.9 meters). Keep in mind that this is definitely an expert-level spot, as advanced surfers are likely to have the best luck with the local scene.
If you're looking for something less intense, you might want to head further around the headland towards Mancora, where Organitos has some fun walls suitable for the less experienced surfers. Just be aware that you’ll need to have your skills dialed in to make the most of Los Organos.
