Lyme Bay surf guide

Surf: Exmouth, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis all get waves in huge SW swells and E Channel swells. Never big or powerful, but some decent set-ups for the committed. Same is true of the protected beach at Weymouth, round the back of the Isle of Portland, which is rumoured to have some reefs, but is cliffy and surrounded by treacherous waters. Environment: Full facilities in these popular beach towns. Parking generally near the seafront to access the surf, free in winter, which is when these spots work.
