Okuragahama surf guide
Surf: Much of this area’s surfing is based around the reliable beachbreaks at Okuragahama. The south end is usually smaller and easier for beginners, while size increases towards the north end and the waves get faster. Will break all tides but higher tide is usually better.
Environment: Can get fairly packed on summer weekends and there are plenty of adept locals queuing up for waves. There are more similar waves further north in Nobeoka at the rivermouth and beyond that lots of possibilities, especially when a typhoon swell hits.
