Pors Carn is a lesser-known surf spot located right next to La Torche. This beach offers a mix of a beachbreak and spots with some reef action, giving surfers a bit of variety. The vibe here is pretty chill, and if you’re looking for a more laid-back session compared to the busier La Torche, this is a good choice. However, when the swell picks up, you might find more locals joining in, especially on those rare perfect days.
The swell direction works best from the SouthWest but can also handle some NorthWest swells. It’s great for surfers at an intermediate level, with wave sizes ranging from 2ft to about 6ft (0.6 to 1.8 meters). You’ll find both left and right waves here, and they break over uneven reef as well as sandy sections. Wind from the SouthEast is preferable, and you'll get the best rides around low, mid, or even high tide. It can get hollow and wedgy, so if you’re in the mood for some exciting waves, you’re in for a treat!
All the facilities you need are located in the car park, making access easy. Just make sure to check the conditions, as Pors Carn can be quite variable, serving up some fun sessions when the conditions align.
