Port Macquarie surf guide

Surf: Port Macquarie has various short rocky beaches in town like Flagstaff, Flynns and out by the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre which can all have their day in NE-SE swells and any W wind. The main event is the consistent north breakwall of the Hastings River, which handles big swells and fortunately, big crowds as the rights run down the triangular bar trapped by the wall. Peaks for as far as the eye can see to the north. Directions: Car ferry across Hastings River Environment: There's a car ferry to get across the river and once you are on the other side there are no facilities. A 4WD will be handy to access the waves north of here.
