Surf: Getting to San Jose Island requires a quick boat or ferry ride, but the rewards can be clean peaks, provided the wind is offshore and the SE swell strong enough. The long jetty provides some S wind protection. Environment: Be careful if attempting to paddle the wide channel as large ships, rips and sharks can be a real hazard.
